"My father's Omega Seamaster had sat in a drawer for twelve years. I was worried it might not be worth repairing, but Pichit examined it thoroughly and was candid about what it needed. Three weeks later it came back running within seconds a day. The condition report was a nice touch — useful for insurance."

"Battery service on my everyday Seiko. Simple job, I know, but what I appreciated was the pressure test — they confirmed the water resistance before handing it back rather than just swapping the battery and calling it done. That's not standard at most places in Bangkok."

"Brought in a 1960s Swiss manual wind for restoration — case refinishing and a new crystal. Turnaround was about four weeks, which is slightly longer than I expected, but the quality of the case work was very good. The photos they took before and after were a proper record, which I'll keep with the watch."

"I've used two other watchmakers in Bangkok previously, both competent but not particularly communicative. Horolune is different — you go in, they look at the watch in front of you, explain what they're seeing, and give you a realistic estimate. No surprises when I came to collect it."

"My grandmother's dress watch had been sitting with a broken mainspring for years — no one in my home city could source the part. Horolune tracked it down and had it back to me in three weeks. It now runs beautifully. Couldn't be happier with the outcome."

"Mechanical service on my daily automatic. The watch is running about +4 seconds a day now, which for a watch of this age is genuinely impressive. I did have to follow up once to ask about progress, but the work itself and the condition report were both excellent."

Case Studies
Three jobs, in some detail
A stopped ETA 2824 — daily-wear automatic
The Situation
A client's Swiss automatic had stopped entirely after seven years of daily wear and no service. The rotor felt sluggish and the movement showed no response to manual winding.
What We Did
Full disassembly revealed severely dried lubricants throughout the keyless works and the gear train. The automatic module showed rotor bearing wear. Both were cleaned ultrasonically, the rotor bearing replaced, and the movement freshly lubricated and regulated.
The Outcome
Post-service timing: +6 seconds per day in crown-down position, within +3 in flat positions. Amplitude reading of 268° — appropriate for the calibre. Returned in 18 days with condition report and 12-month warranty.
"I'd resigned myself to leaving it in the drawer. It's now the watch I reach for most mornings."
1968 dress watch — vintage restoration
The Situation
A collector brought in a 1968 Swiss dress watch inherited from her uncle. The acrylic crystal was badly scratched, the case had several deep marks, and the movement hadn't run in at least a decade. She wanted it wearable without losing its aged character.
What We Did
We photographed the watch in full before opening it. The crystal was replaced with a period-appropriate acrylic. Case marks were partially smoothed but the overall surface was left un-polished at the client's request. The movement received a full service. Dial was conserved — cleaned, not relumed.
The Outcome
Movement now runs at -8 seconds per day, acceptable for its age. The watch retains its original patina and now sits on the client's wrist rather than in a box. Before-and-after photographs and a full written record were provided.
"They understood exactly what I meant about keeping the character of it. I didn't want a new-looking watch — I wanted my uncle's watch."
Quartz sports watch — battery & water-resistance concern
The Situation
A client had his diving watch's battery replaced elsewhere two months earlier and was now seeing condensation under the crystal after swimming. He came in uncertain whether the previous battery change had compromised the seal.
What We Did
The case back was opened and the cause was immediately apparent — the previous gasket had been reused rather than replaced. A fresh gasket was installed, along with a new battery. We pressure-tested to 5 ATM before returning the watch.
The Outcome
Watch passed pressure testing without issue. Returned in three working days. The client has since swum with it without further condensation. Total cost: ฿3,600 for the complete battery and seal service.
"Simple service, done properly. That's really all I needed."
