Why Horolune
Good reasons to
choose this workshop.
There are several watch repair options in Bangkok. Here is an honest account of what makes Horolune the choice for clients who take their timepieces seriously.

What you gain when you bring your watch to us
Swiss-trained expertise
The lead watchmaker completed eight years of training and practice within a Swiss movement repair operation before establishing Horolune. That background shapes every assessment and service decision.
Specialist tools, properly used
Ultrasonic cleaning baths, precision timing machines, and calibrated loupes are standard at Horolune — not equipment borrowed for the occasion. The right tool changes the outcome.
Written condition reports
Every watch is documented at intake and at completion. You receive a written account of what the movement showed, what was done, and what our timing tests recorded. No verbal summaries in passing.
12-month service warranty
Mechanical service work is warranted for twelve months. If a fault arises that relates to what we did, we attend to it without charge. This isn't a courtesy — it's built into the price.
Clear, upfront pricing
Service prices are published and applied consistently. If a job reveals something that would change the scope or cost, we discuss it before proceeding — not after.
Sensitivity to original character
Particularly for vintage and heirloom pieces, we treat patina and age marks as part of the watch rather than problems to correct. Refinishing is discussed, not assumed.
In Detail
Each benefit, examined
Training that shows in the work
Watchmaking at the movement level is a trade that takes years to develop properly. The difference between a trained watchmaker and a technician who changes batteries shows most clearly in the diagnosis — what they notice, what they know to check, and what they leave alone.
Horolune's founder spent those years within a professional movement repair environment before opening independently. The workshop handles movements from straightforward daily-wear calibres through to complex vintage mechanisms that require patience and reference knowledge most general repairers don't carry.
Swiss movement training background — not a general electronics technician course
Experienced with manual-wind, automatic, and complex vintage calibres
Honest about the limits of scope — if a piece falls outside our capability, we say so
Tools that are fit for the work
Proper watchmaking equipment is not cheap, and workshops that scrimp on it produce inferior results. Ultrasonic cleaning removes the degraded oil residue that manual cleaning misses. A timing machine gives objective data — rate in seconds per day, amplitude, and beat error across positions.
Our pressure-testing equipment confirms water resistance after gasket replacement rather than relying on assumption. These are not optional extras at Horolune — they are part of how the service is delivered.

Communication that respects your time
Bringing a watch for service should not feel like guesswork. Horolune provides a written condition report with every mechanical service, a clear estimate before work begins, and a prompt conversation if anything changes once the movement is open.
Visits are by appointment, which means your watch receives undivided attention during the intake discussion — not a rushed counter exchange while the next person waits.
Appointment-based intake — unhurried, focused conversations
Written condition report provided with every mechanical service
Scope changes discussed before proceeding, not explained after
Pricing that reflects the work honestly
A mechanical service at Horolune starts at ฿11,900 for self-winding and hand-wound movements. Battery and seal work is ฿3,600. These prices are fixed and published — they don't change based on the brand of watch or how much it cost when new.
The 12-month warranty on mechanical work is included in that price. The written condition report is included. Documentation for vintage pieces is included. There is no itemised invoice for things that should be standard.
Published prices — no brand premiums or hidden additions
Warranty, condition report, and documentation included as standard
Same-week turnaround on quartz battery and seal service
What you take home
After a mechanical service at Horolune, a watch should run within manufacturer specification for rate — typically ±10 seconds per day for most quality movements, often better. The service record documents what the movement was doing before and what it measures after.
Vintage restorations return with before-and-after photographs and a note on decisions made regarding original surfaces. Battery service pieces are returned pressure-tested and sealed, not simply battery-swapped and handed back.

What Sets Us Apart
Features you won't find elsewhere
Written pre-work assessment
Before any service begins, you receive a written summary of the movement's condition and the scope of work proposed. No other Bangkok atelier of this size offers this as standard.
Before-and-after photographic record
Vintage and restoration pieces are photographed at intake and at completion. The images travel with the condition report — useful for insurance, for records, for your own archive of the piece.
Same person opens your watch and closes it
In larger operations, jobs move between technicians. At Horolune, the watchmaker who assesses your piece is the one who services it. Continuity reduces error and builds familiarity with the movement.
Appointment-only intake
Walk-in counter service moves fast and communicates little. Horolune operates by appointment so that intake discussions are unhurried and nothing important is missed or assumed.

Put us to the test.
The best way to understand the difference is to bring a watch in for assessment. There's no obligation beyond the conversation.
