How the workshop operates
Every job at Horolune begins with an assessment, not an assumption. When a watch arrives, the movement is examined before any service is quoted or begun. What we find is recorded, shared with you, and used as the basis for a clear scope of work.
We work through one service at a time. The workshop is not structured for volume — it's structured for accuracy. The lead watchmaker handles each movement from assessment through to timing verification before return.
Turnaround times are given honestly based on the current schedule and the complexity of the job. We don't commit to timelines we can't hold.
Intake assessment — condition noted, scope agreed

Mechanical Movement Servicing
A full strip-down, cleaning, lubrication, and reassembly of self-winding and hand-wound movements, followed by timing adjustment and accuracy checks. Suited to everyday and heirloom timepieces that have slowed or stopped. Includes a written condition report and a 12-month service warranty.
Complete disassembly of the calibre
Ultrasonic cleaning of all movement components
Fresh lubrication with appropriate watch oils

Vintage Restoration & Refinishing
Careful cosmetic and functional restoration of older watches, including case refinishing, crystal replacement, and dial conservation where appropriate. Each piece is documented before and after, and original character is preserved wherever possible.
Photography at intake and at completion
Case and bracelet refinishing (where requested)
Crystal replacement — acrylic, mineral, or sapphire
Dial conservation — cleaning and stabilisation, no re-printing
Discussion of patina and original finish before any surface work
Written record of all cosmetic and structural changes

Battery, Seal & Water-Resistance Check
Quartz battery renewal paired with gasket replacement and a pressure test to confirm water resistance. A practical visit for daily-wear watches that simply need attention. Same-week turnaround for most models.
New battery appropriate to the calibre
Case back gasket replaced as standard
Crown seal inspected and replaced if worn
Pressure test to verify water resistance after sealing

Professional standards, every time
Secure custody
Every watch in our care is stored in a secured cabinet when not on the bench. No piece leaves the premises without the owner's collection or explicit written instruction.
Timing verification
Any mechanical work is followed by timing machine testing. Rate, amplitude, and beat error are measured across positions and noted in the condition report before return.
Open communication
If a service reveals something unexpected — a worn part, a more complex problem — we discuss it with you before proceeding. You decide; we don't assume.
Quality materials
Only appropriate watch-grade lubricants and manufacturer-specification replacement parts are used. We don't substitute with cheaper alternatives to reduce costs.
Warranty on service work
Mechanical service work carries a 12-month warranty. Battery and seal service is covered for the new gaskets and pressure test result. No separate charges for warranty claims.
Transparent documentation
Condition reports are provided for every mechanical service. Vintage pieces receive photographic records. You leave with a clear account of what the workshop did and why.
